No Child Should be Homeless.

LaCrosse’s “Pink Palace” is being transformed into a home for mothers attending college and their children.

Single women with children will be able to live at Three Rivers Scholars House — under a partnership among Shelter Development Inc., the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Self Sufficiency Program and Hope Academy at the Family and Children’s Center — as long as they are in educational programs.

3 Rivers Scholar House

The 3 Rivers Scholar House helps single-parent students accomplish their goal of a college education by providing housing and a supportive community of other student-parents. The house is located in downtown La Crosse and will open in January 2017.

Students will provide all furnishings for their bedroom space. The items listed below are needed to furnish the common space and outfit the kitchen.

All donated items should be clean and in good to excellent condition.  Please note a preference for the donation of some new kitchen items.

The 3 Rivers Scholar House is a program of Shelter Development, Inc., a recognized 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization. We are happy to provide you with a receipt for your donations.

Please contact Sheila Riley to make arrangements for your donation.
